A YEAR IN PHOTOS - WEEK 14

This is my 5th year of Project 365 and rather than have my photos sit on my computer I have decided to share them here weekly.

Welcome to week 14. 
 

Day 94:  My beautiful Singer...

 

Day 95: Easter Egg hunt... I think I had as much fun setting this up as the girls did finding the eggs!
 

 

Day 96: A fascinating exhibition about British soldiers who turned a wasteland into a garden while held as prisoners.

 

Day 97: We set up the slide projector and it is a huge success. So much that our granddaughters wanted to do it a second evening and they were experts at changing the slides.

Day 98: More home made entertainment.  Lots of getting messy with paper, paint and pizza making. Not all at the same time I hasten to add!
 

 

The girls came for a couple nights sleep over and ended up staying five days.  What fun we had - I can't wait until next time!

I'm late posting as my computer developed a problem and it has only just been fixed but I'll be catching up as soon as I can.  Meanwhile thanks for popping by and hope you had a good Easter too.

A YEAR IN PHOTOS - WEEK 13

This is my 5th year of Project 365 and rather than have my photos sit on my computer I have decided to share them here weekly.

Welcome to week 13. 
 

Day 85:  Last time I showed a beautiful lino print sent to me by a friend. I want to use this as the cover of a journal and my friend was happy for me to make a copy. I printed onto calico so that it will be more hard wearing, I'm looking forward to making the journal next.

 

Day 86: Spring would not be the same without making my annual visit to see the daffodils.

Day 87: I was bought this pot plant at Christmas, it has not stopped flowering.

Day 88: My beautiful typewriter.  It needs a spring clean!

Day 89: This clematis is a favourite as the scent is heavy and makes me want to just stand and breath it in. 
I was pleased to see this bee, we must do everything we can to attract and protect them.

Day 90: Journaling, writing... I love everything about it.

Day 91: Bedtime reading.  A bad shot because I forgot to take a photo earlier in the day!

A YEAR IN PHOTOS, 2015 - WEEK 12

This is my 5th year of Project 365 and rather than have my photos sit on my computer I have decided to share them here weekly.

Welcome to week 12. 

My computer is unwell and it keeps shutting down at the drop of a hat so often I loose my work and have to do it again... and again!  Frustrating isn't the word - but here I am at last with another set of photos and none of these are food related! I kept to my word, though I must say, the Beer Can Roast Chicken that I made did warrant a photo or two. Sorry that I can't show you, the chicken looked quite comical perked on the can but you'll just have to use your imagination to picture that!  I'll show you these though:
 Day 78:  Happy Mail from Denmark. I admired this light house first time a friend showed me her lino print and now I have my own. There was lots of other exciting papery things to make my day special too!

 

 

Day 79:  Solar Partial Eclipse.  Sadly it was cloudy overhead so no chance of seeing the eclipse where I was, though there was a definite darkening and chill in the air. I watch live tv and managed to take this photo, not protective eye wear needed! 

 

 

Day 80: Spring Soltice. 

I was at Avebury for the Summer Soltice and this is where I would liked to have been today. Instead I was home and the sun dial that our children bought us marks time and seasonal change. 

 

 

Day 81.  A few of my writing books.  Time to get some down and enjoy reading them again and writing more....
 

 

Day 82. Decluttering continues and another load ready for the Charity Shop. It's a good feeling to see the space and organisation I am creating. 

 

 

Day 82 (again). Another book making class and one this was made by a lady who came today. I loved the way she put lace over the tissue dress pattern - the book I am making is asking for this. I love how we share ideas and learn from each other.

 

 

Day 83: Altered art. Love just playing and seeing what evolves....

 

 

Day 84: Time to get the awning checked over and ready to go...

A YEAR IN PHOTOS, 2015 - WEEK 11

This is my 5th year of Project 365 and rather than have my photos sit on my computer I have decided to share them here weekly.

Welcome to week 11. 

Day 71:  Lunch with old friends. It was so good to catch up and we  decided we don't do it often enough so dates are already in our diaries for our next meet.

Day 72: Home made stir fry.... pleasure on a plate.

Day 73.  A successful book making day.

Day 74: Happy Mother's Day! 

 

 

Day 75:  I love the old part of the cemetery with the cast iron headstones.

 

Day 76: Another class, another day of good company and paper play.

Day 77:  Finding beauty in the everyday.


There is a lot of photo-food going on this week, I need to look around more and be more creative with my ideas.

Today's photos of the lanterns is a good start.

A YEAR IN PHOTOS, 2015 - WEEK 10

This is my 5th year of Project 365 and rather than have my photos sit on my computer I have decided to share them here weekly.

Welcome to week 10. How fast the days are passing, we are already one fifth into the year! 

Day 64: Our monthly VW meet with fellow enthusiasts. New friends made, new groups discovered, and a nice meal to round off the evening.

Day 65: Spring was in the air.  Lots of washing on the line, cupboards emptied, cleaned and reorganised.  So much achieved! 
Why can't every day be like this?!

 Day 66: A trip to Kent for a craft workshop.  I am so glad I no longer have this daily commute!

Day 67:  The book that I made at the workshop yesterday run by Neil Walker. I have written about it in more detail here.

Day 68: An evening with friends and creative play. 

Day 69: The grass gets its first cut and roll.

 
Day 70:  My main computer keeps crashing and I am having to use my laptop instead.  The keys are different. I keep making typos.  It is frustrating!!

A YEAR IN PHOTOS, 2015 - WEEK 9

Day 57: Another visit to Colchester, admiring the snowdrops around the castle.

and a journal workshop:

Day 58: A visit to the MAKE IT SHOW in Farnborough. As always I found lots that I didn't know I wanted, and a few that I did. It was also a chance to meet up with my friend Ruth, who I first met in blogland.

And then home to Happy Mail. I still don't know who sent this surprise package, but they know what gives me a big smile! Thank you mystery sender! 



Day 59: Heritage Motor Centre, Coventry.
Now while I am not a car enthusiast, I do like taking photos and hearing stories that create meaning. This beautiful Austin 16 was the one millionth Austin to be produced and every Longbridge employee signed the bodywork. It was kept as a display vehicle, and car numbers 999,999 and 1,000,001 were raffled to employees. 

Close up of the bodywork... this would make a wonderful texture for photos.

Day 60. A day to relax and to get out my journal and pens. I never travel without them.

Day 61. The Cathedral may be impressive, but it was Holy Trinity Church that stood out for me.  This 'Doom painting' dates from 1400's and was only rediscovered in 2002. What a find!

I loved the story of this 'tall chair' dating back to 1833:
The vicar of the time (Walter Hook) was friends with a Scottish Bishop. At the time Scottish clergy were not allowed to 'set foot' in English churches, so this chair was used to carry the bishop into the church!

Day 62. Before travelling home I met up with my Blog and Facebook friend Bernice. I love how many friends I have met online and it is so good to meet up in person when opportunity comes.

Day 63.  It's funny how absorbed we become when surrounded by  fibres, threads, buttons, fabric and PAPER!
Beautiful books made today at the Painted Pages class.

A YEAR IN PHOTOS, 2015 - WEEK 8

Day 50: We have our first visit to Kentucky Fried Chicken. It gets a thumbs up!

 

 Day 51: Cider. Passion fruit and apple. This gets a thumbs up too.

 

 

Day 52.  Watching rain fall, across the fields. The sky looked quite dramatic in places.

 

 

Day 53. I spent the day making a book, using an online real-time tutorial. It was great fun and I loved the design... I see more being made!

 

 

Day 54:  On my morning walk I left a book for someone to find.  I hope they enjoy reading it.

 

 

Day 55:  A meal our with friends. Crème Brule and the most lightest handmade shortbread biscuits I have ever had. I'll be going back for more!

 

 

 

Day 56: Who said homework can't be fun!
