5 in 5 - March 2016 - TAKE TIME TO LOOK EVEN WHEN LIFE IS BUSY

Welcome to '5 in 5' where on the 5th of
each month I post 5 photos that I have
taken in 5 minutes.

Where did the month go?!
I had so much I wanted to share, but when life is even busier than usual it means there is less time for other things I want to do. And I bet that's how it is for you too!
But even when I am busy I make time to pause and look around. So I was surprised when I attended a 2 day training in London to see most
people walk straight into the magnificent building where the event was held or barely glance at their surrrounding.

Me?
I gasped!
Stood still and craned my neck.
Then reached inside my bag for my camera. Of course!
And after setting my timer for 5 minutes I snapped away.
This is Holborn Bars. It's magnificent arched windows and entrance are just a hint of what lay behind the entrance.....

I felt very privledged to be in such a beautiful building and the inside was just as breathtaking. Not one of my 5in5 photos, but I think this next photo also deserves a share. All the floors and walls were decorated in ornate tiles and the arched theme continues.

The training was good too!

  1. I can't see the link, so just to say that I've just posted my 5 in 5 for this month.

    1. I added the link Eileen but I see it is doing funny things. I will check this out, thank you for letting me know.

I did an NLP course (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and I booked to do the Practitioner course later this year. Thanks to you Eileen I discovered a local group through Meet Up, and it is something I have always wanted to do.

  2. That is quite an incredible building. You are right of course so many people never look up and around them. It's good that this building still has a worthwhile use.

  5. This is a fabulous set. What a truly beautiful place. I am astounded by so many people who just don't look around them. I was in the Wills Memorial building in Bristol looking around, up and down snapping away when someone asked me what was I looking at!

    1. Isn't it amazing Miriam that people don't even consider that you are admiring the building! Thank goodness some of us can take a moment to appreciate and photograph.

  6. It's awe inspiring! Makes me wonder if it's one of the buildings the film makers looked at when they were planning the Ministry of Magic for Harry Potter
