Hi!
There is much excitement around here and a business of making and putting materials together! You see, I am teaching a book making class at 'Crafting Crazy Days' in Brentwood, Essex on Friday 9th May, and I have decisions to make...
a concertina book, or a recent favourite that I made with file folders?
There are so many choices and things to think about...
AND I have decided that a journal style book would be good!
It will be similar to this one that I made:
There are pockets, inserts, tabs, and pages for writing and sketching. I will be providing a choice of materials so it can be adapted for various themes, and I am super excited!!
If you live near enough and want to join us please contact Pauline and her friend Leslie on the link shown. They offer a warm welcome, lots of homemade cup cakes and tea, and lunch is also provided.
If on the other hand you live too far to come to the class, I will be offering this book as an online class at sometime in the future. More about that to come.
Meanwhile I'd love to know what your favourite type of book would be to make? One for journaling, storing photos and memories?
Thanks for popping by!
The online class sounds great! I love your mini books - this could be what gets me Scrapbooking again!
ReplyDeleteAn online class, how exciting! Good luck with your ventures.
ReplyDeleteBeing slightly too far away to attend a class in Brentwood, I'm delighted that you might be doing an online class sometime in the future. Having never really made a book since I was about 7 or 8, I'm not sure which I would prefer, but I currently write in a "gratitude" journal so maybe that would be a good place to start. Good luck with your course, Joy x x
ReplyDeleteSandie, I've been waiting with excited anticipation for this class to be organised only to find that I'm actually on a photography class next Friday. I'm gutted but can't do anything about it as it's a one day course and already paid for. Would much prefer to do a workshop rather than an online one, but there we go. Grrrr. Anyway hope it goes well for you. Please let me know when another one is planned. I would have liked the one with pockets, inserts and tabs personally.

I love that you were waiting for this class Patricia, after seeing my books at the ArtBookArt fair. I was offered this opportunity at short notice and took it but don't worry.. I am planning more and you will be first to know!
DeleteBest of luck with your class Sandie - how exciting!
ReplyDeleteanything suitable for art journaling is always fun!
ReplyDeleteOh congrats ... wish I did live closer Sandie!
ReplyDeleteYour mini class at the Grafham retreat was awesome and I love that mini book. That is the type of one I would like to make again, one for photos and a bit of journalling to record something. Looking forward to seeing your online class xxx
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a traveling art journal/sketch book.
