STEAMPUNK ESSEXTRAORDINAIRE - BOOK MAKING WORKSHOP

Today I have been making a sample book for a Steampunk Event where I will be running workshops.  They are only short sessions of one hour each so I had to think about what is possible. What is realistic!

And this is what I came up with:

 

It means I have to prepare the embossed detail in advance but I hope those attending will enjoy adding the rust effect and their own images.  There will be a simple sewing of pages, and a book to take home.   And I will also have a small display of other books that I make. 

 

My friend Paula will be making some stunning Steampunk Brooches (I definitely want to sign up for this workshop!) and here she is dressed for the occasion: 

 

 

Paula asked if I will be dressing up on the day. I haven't thought that far ahead! But if you live near enough, come and find out!

WINDOWS 10 - SHOULD I DOWNLOAD?

Should I download Windows 10?   

I have asked this question and had mixed feedback.

My son loves it and has been telling me to download since launch day.  However I know people who have had problems with compatibility and so I have been wary.

For the past week I have had problems with my main computer. Luckily it isn't anything my son can't fix. And while he was working on it the subject of Windows 10 came up again. It keeps popping up on my screen as an invitation. 

And so I decided to take a gamble.  To install it on to my lap top first, and if I am happy I will also download it onto my main computer. 

As I write the software is downloading.

I will let you know how I get on.
