TREE FOLLOWING - October 2015

I went for a walk today to take photos of the two trees that I am following.  On the way I saw beautiful coloured leaves and signs of autumn approaching. I wondered what change my trees would show...

And I had a surprise!

THE LONDON PLANE.
The leaves on this tree are still bright green!

The nuts are beginning to ripen....

and the ivy has crept higher...

At the bottom I spotted a little hole.  I wonder who lives here?

And looking up I admired the textures and colours of this bark. It has such contrast and looked beautiful on this sun dappled day....

Down the road is THE OAK.

This tree also has green leaves....

but there are other changes....
Remember the broken branch that has hung suspended all year?

Well, it has finally falled off!
And so have the acorns, leaving none on the tree and the ground underneath littered.
And I couldn't go without a photo of this spider web.

I wonder what change I will see next month?

I am always sad to see the end of summer but this is softened by my love of autumnal colours - sometimes they just take my breath away. And I know in some parts of the country and world they are even more spectacular, so I hope you are enjoying beautiful colours where ever you are, and whatever your season.

I am linking in with Lucy over at Loose and Leafy.  Sadly Lucy has had problems with her computer and has decided to hand over Tree Following. But the good news is that it will continue! So thank you Lucy for coming up with this idea and for inviting others to join you with monthly posts and I will be back next month with more photos.  Thanks for popping by and if you want to find out more about tree following there are details here

5 in 5 - MELANIE - October 2015

Melanie is my friend who lives in Australia and she loves photography. Every month Melanie has taken part in this monthly neme and we managed to find a way round her not having a blog by posting here. I love that we have found a way for her to take part! So over to you Melanie:

Hi this month with 5th of October expected to be 30C here in Adelaide (it got there and more) my plan to go out and about to find a spot for photos didn’t happen.  Instead I was indoors with the air conditioning on.  My husband recently painted one of our rooms with the intention of us keeping the wall that a few years ago I did a collage of pictures from English calendars untouched. Unfortunately the masking tape he put on the edge of the collage wall when removed left a mark all the way down.  So I used the hot 5th of October to cut up more calendars pictures and create a new edge which I decided I would show off in my 5 in 5 pictures.  The edge I did is next to the grey looking wall on the RHS of the photos.  The top RHS is my work space which is still in a mess.

Now that's what I call a collage!!  How lovely to have this bright cheerful wall that reminds Melanie of back home.

Thank you for sharing this Melanie! If this has inspired you to pick up your camera and take part in this challenge you have until 25th before this months link closes. It's great fun and this post should answer any questions or give other information that you need.

To see this and more links for this month just go here and hopefully I'll be back with  more photos from Melanie next month.
I hope you will join us and thanks for popping by.
